The EYVOL partners met for the first time in Athens to start the project led by the Olympic Truce.
Mr. Costantinos Filis welcomed all Partners and gave the floor to each of them who introduced themselves and their organization.
An overview of the project was presented, together with general information on the Work Plan.
Two main phases of the project were then illustrated in detail:
- the Portuguese Olympic Committee together with University La Sorbonne showed the intended roadmap towards the collection of good practies that will lead to the Guide on Good Practices on volunteering for social inclusion through sport in the Mediterranean Region, the first deliverable of the EYVOL project;
- the Italian Olympic Committee illustrated the tools that will be put in place to support a powerful dissemination and exploitation plan, tailored to the target groups’ characteristics and needs and designed to ensure the maximum visibility, accessibility and use of the results at the end of the project.
The lunch break at the Roof Garden of the Royal Olympic Hotel where the meeting was held was a welcome opportunity to take a top view of the breathtaking panorama of the Pantheon, as witnessed by the picture of the EYVOL Team (see photogallery).
In the afternoon, all administrative affairs concerning monitoring and quality assurance, evaluation and reporting were dealt with, together with the next meetings schedule and other business.
At the end of the working session, the Team met for a pleasant walk in the city center to visit the Panathinaiko stadium (see photogallery) before enjoying a very nice typical greek dinner and a gorgeaous walk tour around the Pantheon by night.
